The Rwanda ICT Chamber, in collaboration with UNCDF Rwanda, Kigali Innovation City, and the Rwandan government, is supporting the Rwanda FintecHub.
The FintecHub, now in its second cohort, assists early-stage companies by providing market access, technical assistance, flexible grants based on milestone achievement, coaching, and partners who can help firms expand faster.
The goal, according to Alex Ntale, CEO of the ICT Chamber, is to “help our entrepreneurs” so they can “expand their customer base and raise money to scale up.”
The first batch of four financial startups completed the six-month accelerated program successfully. Following the training, all four firms received technical assistance as well as $5000 and $20000 in milestone-based funding to help them grow their businesses.
They were also connected to leadership, strategy, personnel management, customer acquisition, and impact investment mentor networks.
The second batch of startups will be chosen through a competitive application process that evaluates the growth, scalability, sustainability, and inclusivity of digital financial solutions in development.
