The Uganda Green Enterprise Finance Accelerator (UGEFA), a four-year European Union (EU)-funded project that provides green businesses with customized loans and direct acceleration support, is now accepting applications.

The UGEFA program is available to businesses seeking funding of between $10,000 and $100,000, and it will provide eligible applicants with tailored assistance in refining their business and financial plans in order to facilitate their loan application.

The businesses are matched with affiliate banks to gain access to discounted loans tailored to their specific needs.

We foresee a long-term transition to a green economy led by SMEs that collaborate with financial institutions to develop and scale innovative goods and services while also creating jobs in green industries, according to the organizers.

“To promote access to targeted missing middle finance, we combine capacity building of post-revenue, scalable green enterprises with co-creation with financial institutions.” the organizers concluded.

Applications will be accepted until May 31.
