The Google for Startups Accelerator Africa is a three-month accelerator program for Seed to Series A technology startups and African entrepreneurs across the African continent.
The accelerator aims to provide the best of Google’s programs, products, people, and technology to entrepreneurs who are using or planning to use machine learning and AI in their businesses.
The accelerator also includes deep dives and workshops focused on product design, customer acquisition, and leadership development for founders, specialized training, media opportunities, and access to Google’s network of engineers and experts, in addition to mentorship and technical project support.
As part of Google’s global commitment to support underserved areas, a new US$3 million Google for Startups Black Founders Fund Africa is opening.
Google will deliver the funds to the selected startups across Africa in collaboration with the Co-Creation Center (CcHub), a Google for Startups partner and prominent tech community hub with locations in Nigeria, Kenya, and Rwanda.
The Tony Elumelu Foundation will receive a $3 million grant from Google to provide entrepreneurial training, mentorship, and coaching to 5,000 women with limited digital skills who live in rural areas and work in the informal sector.
Applications are now open for early-stage startups across the continent to receive funding as well as technical support.
