Global data centre maintenance specialist Evernex has completed the acquisition of Sunrise Technologies, a Moroccan IT services provider, as part of its strategic expansion across the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region, the company announced.
The deal, backed by private equity firm 3i Group plc, strengthens Evernex’s operational footprint in Morocco, where the group already operates one of its three Global Shared Service Centres alongside facilities in Brazil and Malaysia.
Sunrise Technologies, founded and based in Morocco, brings specialized expertise in IBM-based storage systems and advanced virtualization technologies such as VMware and Nutanix capabilities that Evernex expects to integrate into its broader service offerings.
Evernex said the acquisition will immediately enhance its local service desk and engineering capabilities, expand its technological coverage, and improve maintenance service delivery for clients across the EMEA region.
“This strategic move reinforces our presence in a key market and strengthens our ability to deliver high-quality, reliable services,” said Evernex Chief Executive Stanislas Pilot, highlighting the importance of Morocco as both a growth market and an operational hub.
The transaction marks the eighth acquisition for Evernex since the 3i investment in October 2019, underlining the company’s sustained external growth strategy in global IT services and data centre maintenance.
Industry analysts view the deal as a signal of continued consolidation in the IT services sector, with multinational firms seeking to deepen regional capabilities through targeted acquisitions of locally established technology specialists.
Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
