LinkedIn has launched a new global feature to support freelancers and small business owners on its platform. The feature, “Open for Business” was unveiled yesterday in Dubai.
LinkedIn is an employment-oriented platform that champions professional networking, job opportunities, and employment-related conversations. The platform has a user base of 630 million in 200 countries with over 30million companies also registered on the platform.
However, amidst this growth and large user base, LinkedIn does not have a specific feature for Freelancers or SMEs on their platform.

It was on the backdrop to enhance professional visibility for freelancers and small business leaders on its platform that Open Business was launched. It also demonstrates LinkedIn’s commitment to small and medium-sized businesses across the world.
The co-Founder of LinkedIn, Allen Blue stated that the new feature was birthed from the need to globally scale small and medium-sized businesses. Open Business also underpins LinkedIn vision to create economic opportunities for every member of the global workforce.
