One of the largest and oldest banks in South Africa, First National Bank (FNB), has introduced its Virtual Card offering to all customers after a beta testing phase.

Virtual Card is a digital card solution that allows purchases online and offline much more secure and convenient.

Customers can load the Virtual Card on their FNB and/or RMB Private Bank profile immediately and connect it to a debit, credit or fusion account to shop securely and conveniently at no additional cost,” said FNB.”

The Virtual Card can also be used by FNB customers to pay digitally via’ scan to pay’ or for online transactions during check-out.

Customers can load their Virtual Card for safer and easy online shopping on trusted websites or apps.

The Virtual Card will also support the use of approved contactless “tap-to-pay” digital wallets in the coming months. These include, but are not restricted to, Samsung Pay and FNB Pay.

FNB noted that within the app, nobody would ever be able to access the three significant payment data at the same time: card number, CVV, and expiry date.

The card also facilitates both domestic and global spending, and with each subscription or online store they use, users are able to build a virtual card.

The FNB mobile app for Android and iOS allows you to use this feature free of charge.
