The UK-Nigeria Tech Hub, an initiative of the UK Government Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, has launched its Design School program to equip 30 aspiring designers with the world-class product design skills needed in the 21st century to allow them to become marketable or kick-start their technology career.
The pilot phase of this program is a two-month program that will kick-start on February 1, 2021, and the program will virtually run to comply with COVID-19 health guidelines.
This is a perfect opportunity to cultivate and inspire designers, inspiring them more with the skills needed to upskill and compete, both at home and abroad.
Honey Ogundeyi, UK-Nigeria Tech Hub Country Director, noted that the Hub remains committed to improving Nigeria’s tech ecosystem by encouraging and facilitating initiatives that promote digital skills and invariably build employment opportunities.
Olatokunbo Fagbamigbe, Dufuna’s CEO and founder, said that Dufuna is excited to partner with the UK-Nigeria Tech Hub to train the Nigerian tech ecosystem with a new generation of world-class product designers. The course in Product Design adds to our course portfolio and takes us closer to achieving our goal of empowering 1,000,000 Africans with digital vocational skills.
