In order to put in a new authentication layer for those using its web and desktop versions, WhatsApp is introducing a new biometric feature to the service.
The new feature will allow people to add a fingerprint, face or iris scan to use WhatsApp on their desktop or web by linking it to your mobile app, which can be used alongside the existing QR code authentication.
The new feature allows you to add a biometric login that uses either a fingerprint, face ID, or eye scan on Android or iPhone handsets, depending on the device, to add a second layer of authentication. It works only if you have biometric authentication enabled on your device.
