Global car rental company, Europcar has teamed up with FlexClub, a South African car tech startup, to offer its innovative rent-to-buy car subscription model.

Europcar will be able to reach the car subscription market in South Africa as a result of the new agreement, and will be able to provide a completely digital service where locals can purchase vehicles using the “Drive Now, Buy Later” model.

Tinashe Ruzane, FlexClub’s CEO and co-founder said, “We want to make it easier for big mobility brands like Europcar to adapt to these changes and work with us to create a better digital experience for customers who enjoy their freedom.”

The relationship between the two firms, according to Martin Lydall, CEO of Europcar South Africa, aims to provide a digital-first experience for interested car buyers in South Africa.

“Europcar is ecstatic to collaborate with FlexClub in this cutting-edge region. It gives consumers access to our high-quality fleet of new vehicles, which is backed up by our nationwide branch network. Our collaboration with FlexClub has been designed to ensure that our product delivers great value and offers all customers a smooth and easy journey.” Europcar prides itself on service quality and convenience, and our partnership with FlexClub has been designed to ensure that our product delivers great value and offers all customers a seamless and easy journey.”

Because of the pandemic, consumer behavior has changed dramatically, causing eCommerce to accelerate in the automotive industry.

FlexClub’s latest digital subscription platform bridges the divide between car rental and auto retail firms by providing a viable alternative to conventional car loans.

Members can swap cars, lease cars, or cancel their subscription at no extra cost if they have a subscription.
