The Rice Business Plan Competition 2023 for Student Entrepreneurs, which offers student entrepreneurs practical experience and financial rewards, is now accepting applications.

The tournament, which is organized by the Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship, has grown over the past 20 years from nine teams from around the world fighting for US$10,000 in rewards in 2001 to 42 teams from all around the world competing for more than US$2 million in cash and prizes.

Also, a significant amount of time is set aside for interactions with the prize sponsors and judges, the bulk of whom are members of the investment industry.

A mentoring program assists founders in building their firms so they are stronger, better, and better able to raise money and succeed in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Together with the monetary prize, winners receive a multi-day intensive training session where they can pitch investors, get feedback, and progress their startups.

Applications are being accepted from startups in the industries of energy, hard technology, healthcare, digital enterprise, and consumer goods and services.

Student-run, student-created, or student-managed startups that submit applications must have at least two current students on their management team or as founders.

Every college or university student from anywhere in the world is eligible to apply.

The deadline for submissions is February 28.

Visit the website to apply or for additional information.
