Applications are now open for the 7th edition of Africa’s Business Heroes (ABH) competition, a flagship philanthropic initiative by the Jack Ma Foundation and Alibaba Philanthropy. The competition aims to identify, support, and inspire the next generation of African entrepreneurs who are driving positive change across the continent.
The ABH competition offers a total grant of US$1.5 million to ten outstanding entrepreneurs each year. The top three finalists will receive grants of US$300,000, US$250,000, and US$150,000, respectively, while the remaining seven finalists will each receive US$100,000. Additionally, all finalists will benefit from US$100,000 worth of global immersion training, providing them with invaluable exposure and opportunities to expand their businesses internationally.
The application process is open to entrepreneurs from all African countries, across various sectors and age groups.Applicants must be the founder or co-founder of a business that is formally registered and headquartered in an African country, with a track record of at least three years. Applications are accepted in both English and French.
Since its inception in 2019, the ABH competition has spotlighted and supported nearly 100 entrepreneurs, helping them scale their businesses and amplify their impact. Finalists gain access to mentorship, training, and a network of like-minded entrepreneurs, investors, and industry experts.
