In order to compete for the grand prize of US$50,000 and entry into the Ecobank Fintech Challenge Fellowship program, six African fintech startups have been selected as finalists in this year’s Ecobank Fintech Challenge.

This is the fifth year that the Fintech Challenge has given startups from different stages of development the chance to collaborate with Ecobank.

“The growing number of applications for the Ecobank Fintech Challenge has me impressed. By 2022, there will be more than 700 applications, up from roughly 412 in 2018. The ambition of Africans to turn technological innovation into a practical lever for socioeconomic development reveals a clear paradigm change inside the African continent, according to Tomisin Fashina, executive for operations and technology at Ecobank Group.

The following six startups have been selected as 2022’s finalists:

Touch and Pay – Nigeria.

Moni Africa – Nigeria.

DizzitUp – Togo.

Cauri Money – Senegal.

MaishaPay – Democratic Republic of Congo.

Paycode – South Africa.

From over 700 entries from 59 different countries, six finalists were selected to compete in this month’s grand final in Togo for US$50,000 and entry into the Ecobank Fintech Challenge Fellowship program.
