Flutterwave, an African payment technology company, has teamed up with Forter, an American eCommerce fraud detection agency, to help merchants distinguish genuine buyers on Flutterwave platforms.

The aim of this initiative is to detect fraudsters posing as legitimate buyers on the payment network.

The collaboration, which is being hailed as the first of its kind in Africa, would enable merchants to reliably distinguish legitimate buyers from fraudsters, allowing them to increase transaction approvals and reduce uncertainty in the buying process while avoiding the risk of fraud.

Flutterwave now has access to Forter’s global alliance of retailers, payment processors, and banks battling fraud, allowing us to use our artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to promote e-commerce development in a market with enormous potential.

In addition, working with a market leader like Flutterwave helps us to have the best user experience and a secure environment for our customers to develop safely and confidently,” said Michael Reitblat, CEO of Forter.

Flutterwave has revolutionized the African payments room by providing individuals and companies with versatile and affordable payment options.

The partnership with Forter allows retailers to accept more purchases while also allowing online shoppers to use alternative payment methods in addition to conventional credit cards.

We take security very seriously at Flutterwave. Every transaction on our platform is safe and secure, and we go above and beyond industry standards. We are able to realize our vision of frictionless trade in Africa by collaborating with Forter.

Our merchant network will focus on core business operations and expansion opportunities, secure in the knowledge that our customers are secured from fraud.

We will further enhance our dedication to fraud detection and protection with Forter’s ability to instantly recognise legitimate customers.

By offering an efficient, seamless, and trustworthy user experience, our customers can increase the amount of authorized transactions, extend their business operations to new markets, and create brand loyalty,” said Olugbenga ‘GB’ Agboola, Founder and CEO of Flutterwave.
