Côte d’Ivoire has secured a $95 million funding commitment from the United Arab Emirates to accelerate its digital transformation. The agreement, facilitated by the UAE’s Ministry of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, is set to be formalized with a letter of intent by mid-October 2025. The funds are expected to be released by the end of the year, marking a significant step in strengthening digital governance and technological infrastructure in the country.
The financing package will support several key initiatives aimed at modernizing Côte d’Ivoire’s public sector and enhancing its digital capabilities:
- Modular Data Center and Sovereign Cloud: Establishment of a state-of-the-art data center and sovereign cloud infrastructure to ensure secure and efficient data management.
- AI and Innovation Center of Excellence: Creation of a center dedicated to advancing artificial intelligence research and fostering innovation within the public sector.
- Modernization of SIGFAE: Upgrades to the Integrated Management System for Civil Servants and State Agents (SIGFAE) by integrating AI-powered features to enhance human resource management and service delivery.
This collaboration underscores the deepening ties between Côte d’Ivoire and the UAE in the fields of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and technology. The partnership reflects a shared commitment to fostering digital transformation and innovation in the region.
The successful implementation of these projects is expected to position Côte d’Ivoire as a leading hub for digital innovation in West Africa, driving economic growth and improving public service delivery through advanced technological solutions.
