Huawei Mobile Services has partnered with Mondia Pay, a digital payments provider, to provide mobile network operators with seamless and contactless payment solutions.

Demand for the introduction of Direct Carrier Billing (DCB) for seamless, contactless payments for mobile users in the MEA region has expanded since the partnership began in September 2020.

Vodafone Egypt and Etisalat UAE are the first two carriers to use Mondia Pay’s direct carrier billing service. Following the testing process, the following operators will go live with the DCB service this quarter: Ufone Pakistan, Cell C South Africa, Orange Tunisia, and Ooredoo Algeria.

Mondia Pay, a DCB service for customers, is available on HUAWEI AppGallery to make online payments easier.

Subscribers can now use DCB to access applications on HUAWEI AppGallery, allowing them to access more common local and global apps.

Mondia Pay, Mondia’s digital payment arm, processes over 2.1 billion monthly transactions worldwide and offers customers a simple and safe way to pay for services using their mobile phone.

“We are extremely proud of our ongoing partnership with Huawei, as well as our efforts to allow customers across Africa to take advantage of Mondia Pay’s fully integrated digital payment technology to make frictionless payments in a quick, reliable, and secure manner.

We also endorse ongoing efforts to move to cashless societies, which have gained considerable momentum in the last 12 months,” said Mondia Pay CEO Simon Rahmann.
