At a glitzy event held on the rooftop of The Nile Ritz-Carlton in Cairo, Egypt, the winners of the 2022 AWIEF Awards were announced.
The AWIEF Awards Ceremony and Gala Dinner were the last events of the two-day AWIEF2022 Conference, which was held in North Africa for the first time.
Annually, the AWIEF Awards recognize, honor, and celebrate the achievements of African women business owners across a wide range of industries for their vital role in the continent’s inclusive economic growth and social development.
At the occasion, AWIEF CEO Irene Ochem greeted the winners and thanked both the worldwide jury for the AWIEF Awards and everyone who submitted nominations. She continued, “I usually get a little emotional when it comes to the AWIEF Awards event since it signifies that the year’s activities are coming to a close. The fact that we also get to honor outstanding women, many of whom have benefited from AWIEF projects, makes it a bittersweet sensation. The chance to view the results of our labor and understand why we do what we do is presented.
