Angolan mobility startup Anda has raised a US$3.4 million seed funding round to ramp up efforts to modernise the country’s informal motorcycle-taxi sector.
The investment is led by European early-stage funds Breega and Speedinvest, signalling heightened investor interest in transport tech across Southern Africa.
Anda says the funds will be used to expand its rider base, strengthen its technology stack and deepen its operational footprint across Angola.
In a sector where motorcycle taxis are a major component of urban mobility, particularly in high-density cities like Luanda, the startup intends to introduce a drive-to-own model for riders, provide insurance and safety tools, facilitate digital payments and deliver GPS-based emergency support.
By enabling formalised operations and better incomes for riders, Anda is positioning itself as part of the digital transformation of Africa’s mobility sector, shifting informal networks into more structured, data-driven services.
