Crafty Workshop, an Egyptian startup in the education technology sector, has successfully raised $400,000 in a round of seed funding.

EdVentures, the region’s first corporate venture capital firm with a specific focus on educational technology, led the funding round.

Crafty Workshop, an innovative e-learning platform with a focus on the creative industries was founded in 2019 by Hadeer Shalaby and Amgad Moustafa. The start-up provides a wide selection of creative courses and workshops.  It serves those who are interested in photography, animation, handicrafts, programming, game development, creating art, design, and other fields.

The platform is committed to providing affordable, top-notch education that will enable users to develop their creative talents and follow their passions.

Crafty Workshop serves as both an educational platform and a supplier of vocational skills training, addressing the urgent problem of youth unemployment. The company provides learners with essential knowledge and abilities through its vocational training programs, as well as assisting them in finding employment and career prospects.

Hadeer Shalaby, a co-founder, commented on the funding round, saying, “We are thrilled to have received this investment from EdVentures, which will enable us to accelerate our growth and make a greater impact in the Edtech space. We are excited to expand our reach to the Gulf Region, enrich our content library, and enhance our offerings for schools involved in creative productions.”

The startup’s main goal is to enable learners to develop their creative abilities and pursue their passions by offering them affordable, high-quality education.
