MyHealth Africa, a Kenyan-based e-health startup, has raised a $1 million seed round to help it expand.

The GIIG Africa Fund led the funding round, which also included Samurai VC, a family office, and existing shareholders.

MyHealth Africa, a full-service integrated healthcare platform that connects patients with local and foreign medical professionals and facilities, was founded in 2017.

“Along with Samurai VC and other investors, we are thrilled to welcome GIIG Africa to our cohort of investors. We will use the funds raised during this time to expand across South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa as we move the business one step closer to our objective of revolutionizing patient access to specialized healthcare services globally. According to Ryan Marincowitz, founder and CEO of MyHealth Africa, “the future of health-tech in Africa and emerging markets is bright, and we are delighted to be at the forefront, paving the way for high-quality healthcare services in the region and beyond.”

Up to this point, the platform has facilitated almost 26,000 medical visits and onboarded more than 1,500 doctors, clinics, and hospitals globally.

The company plans to use the funds to support its expansion across Africa in 2023, as well as new market entries in the Middle East and South Asia.
