Potcast Productions, a podcast production company headquartered in Egypt, has successfully secured an undisclosed pre-seed funding round.
The funds will be used to expand the company’s content production capabilities, expedite the development of new series, and expand its marketing efforts.
In April, Innovative Media Productions (IMP), the media company responsible for Egypt’s Shart Tank television program, invested in Potcast Productions for its pre-seed funding round. In addition, Ahmed Tarek Khalil, a distinguished investor, also participated in the funding round.
Potcast, which was founded in 2020 by Islam Adel, produces 15 distinct podcast programs that are customized to meet the needs of a variety of target demographics. In the past six months, the company has amassed over 600,000 viewing hours and seven million listens.
“Securing this follow-up investment from IMP and Ahmed Tarek Khalil is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team. Their support validates our mission to transform podcasting in the region and propels us forward as we continue to innovate and expand our reach,” Adel said.
The startup will utilize the funds to improve its content production capabilities, expand its marketing initiatives, and expedite the creation of new, high-quality podcast series that are tailored to a diverse and expanding audience. Potcast’s status as a pioneer in audio-first content production will be further solidified by this round of investment, which will also fund the development of high-quality audio experiences for both digital and offline platforms.
