Saudi Arabia-based artificial intelligence startup Newera.ai has closed a $2.1 million (SAR 8 million) pre-seed funding round, with Embark leading the investment and additional participation from a group of angel investors, the company said.
The capital will be deployed to scale Newera.ai’s enterprise-focused AI solutions within the Kingdom, bolster research and development efforts, and accelerate product development tailored to local business needs.
Founded in 2023 by Abdulrhman Alsuliman, Newera.ai builds generative and agentic AI systems designed to help organisations transform internal workflows and complex business challenges into deployed, production-ready solutions, targeting sectors such as finance, logistics and operations.
A central component of the company’s strategy is data localisation within Saudi Arabia, aimed at meeting regulatory requirements and addressing enterprise concerns around data security and control, executives said.
Newera.ai’s leadership positioned the pre-seed financing as part of a broader push to support digital transformation across Saudi enterprises, aligning with national objectives to boost AI adoption and innovation under the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 agenda.
Investors noted that the funding underscores growing interest in enterprise-ready AI startups in the Middle East, where demand for automation, predictive analytics and scalable AI tools continues to rise.
