Skrmiish, a South African-based mobile “play-to-earn” software that lets players of all skill levels earn money in every match they play across the AAA+ games they like, has received a US$2.5 million seed round to accelerate its worldwide growth.
Launch Africa Ventures, the Blockchain Founders Fund, and Stellar are among the investors in the funding round.
MoneyMatch, a feature created by Skrmiish and released in 2021, enables users to earn real money in every match they participate in without having to wait for a tournament or locate a peer to challenge them.
Over 100,000 participants from more than 100 jurisdictions around the world have already joined the startup.
The team’s ability to integrate the Skrmiish economic value system and create a play-to-earn structure for the majority of players worldwide will be accelerated, according to Luke Grob, CEO of Skrmiish.
This democratizes the competitive esports and blockchain-based gaming businesses and revolutionizes how easily anyone may make money while playing video games. We’re thrilled to introduce our new MoneyMatch feature across a number of games, bringing casual gaming to a brand-new level of excitement that we think will please players everywhere, added Grob.
With the money, Skrmiish will be able to integrate more game franchises, increase monthly revenue, expand into North and Latin America, and launch its Skrmiish cryptocurrency. In order to strengthen the already talented staff and keep moving the business ahead, it will also try to add a few essential experienced individuals.
