Egyptian restaurant tech startup Suplyd has raised $2 million in a pre-Series A round to supercharge its mission of transforming the food service supply chain beyond simple distribution.
The funding round was led by 4DX Ventures, with participation from Camel Ventures, Plus VC, Seedstars, and other strategic investors, underscoring strong investor confidence in Suplyd’s vision for digitizing procurement in the food and beverage (F&B) sector.
Founded in Cairo, Suplyd simplifies how restaurants, cafés, and catering businesses source everything from fresh produce to packaged goods. Traditionally, Egypt’s $10 billion restaurant supply chain has been riddled with inefficiencies, manual processes, and fragmented distribution networks. Suplyd’s digital procurement platform connects HORECA (Hotels, Restaurants, and Cafés) operators directly with suppliers, giving them visibility, price transparency, and operational control.
“Restaurants don’t just need faster deliveries – they need smarter procurement,” said Suplyd CEO. “With this funding, we’re building the infrastructure that allows restaurant owners to run operations seamlessly, cut costs, and focus on growth.”
Suplyd plans to use the fresh capital to expand its technology stack, integrating AI-powered forecasting, inventory management, and credit solutions tailored for restaurants. This will move the company beyond being just a distributor to becoming a digital backbone for Egypt’s food ecosystem.
The startup also aims to strengthen partnerships with suppliers, expand regionally across North Africa, and introduce financial products that help restaurants manage cash flow in a volatile economy.
Commenting on the investment, 4DX Ventures noted:
“Suplyd is solving one of the most overlooked yet critical challenges in Egypt’s food economy. By digitizing procurement for restaurants, they are unlocking efficiencies that ripple across the entire ecosystem.”
Suplyd’s raise comes as part of a wider wave of restaurant tech and B2B food supply chain digitization sweeping across MENA and Africa. With Egypt’s restaurant industry booming and demand for operational efficiency at an all-time high, Suplyd is positioning itself as a regional leader in F&B procurement technology.
With fresh investor backing, Suplyd is moving beyond just delivering food supplies; it’s building smart, digital infrastructure that could redefine how restaurants across Egypt and North Africa operate.
