The new MacBooks powered by Apple’s M2 Pro and M2 Max CPUs were launched earlier than expected.

Prices for the new Mac mini start at $599 and it will be available from January 24.

The 13-inch MacBook Pro with the M2 chip starts at $1,299, while the 14- and 16-inch models with the newest chips start at $1,999.

The launch of the new Macbook Pro models had been anticipated for some months, but because of problems with the supply chain, it was pushed back from the previous year to the beginning of 2023.

“Everything here is related to the delayed chipset switch. Due to the delay, Apple must decide whether to wait for the customary, anticipated debut or to actually do something unusual “said Runar Bjrhovde, an analyst with Canalys.

According to Apple, the new M2 Pro runs programs like Adobe Photoshop with high workloads “faster than ever” thanks to the approximately 20% increase in transistors over the M1 Pro and the double the amount in M2.

After 15 years of relying on Intel’s (INTC.O) technology, Apple decided in 2020 to switch to using semiconductors that were built in-house.

As a result, Apple is already rolling out products that use the most recent versions of the M2 chip, which it debuted last year.

Apple’s stock increased by nearly 1%, outperforming a generally declining market.

The stock fell by roughly 27% in 2022, which was the greatest decline since the financial crisis of 2008.
