Netflix has begun rolling out its mobile games to subscribers with Android smartphones around the world, breaking new territory as competition heats up.

Users will simply need a Netflix subscription to play such games, according to the business, and there will be no additional payments or in-app purchases.

When Netflix transitioned from DVDs by mail to streaming movies, they offered free games to their current customers as a way of retaining them.

Netflix customers in Spain, Italy, and Poland have already received games such as “Stranger Things: 1984,” “Stranger Things 3: The Game,” “Card Blast,” “Teeter Up,” and “Shooting Hoops.”

In September, the streaming behemoth purchased video game developer Night School Studio and released five mobile gaming titles in various European regions.

Netflix revealed its venture into gaming in July, as it faced a severe slowdown in new consumers after years of rapid expansion, a pandemic-fueled explosion in 2020, and fierce competition from Disney+ and HBO Max.
