Factor[e]Ventures, a Kenyan venture capital firm, has launched Delta40, a new venture studio that will develop and invest in technology ventures to raise incomes and combat climate change in Africa.

Early-stage technology businesses in the fields of energy, agriculture, water, and transportation are supported and invested in by Factor[e]Ventures.

Delta40 is primarily interested in technology-driven enterprises in the fields of energy, agriculture, and mobility that are run by diverse, and experienced founders.

The Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP) provided the venture studio with seed money and strategic guidance. GEAPP is a collective action platform that is partnered with organizations including the Rockefeller Foundation, the IKEA Foundation, the Bezos Earth Fund, and the Wilson Sonsini law firm, which is a recognized leader in the field of climate technology law.

Although only 3% of the world’s carbon emissions originate in Africa, according to Morgan DeFoort of Factor[e]Ventures, more than 60% of African families will be impacted by climate change if nothing is done.

“Investing in energy, agriculture, mobility, and water innovations in emerging markets for ten years has confirmed that there is a significant chance to support local and varied entrepreneurs as they link their technology and markets at the formation stage. In order to expand our capacity to find, evaluate, invest in, and grow technology-driven businesses driving the fight against climate change in this crucial market, Factor[e]Ventures is happy to launch Delta40, according to DeFoort.

40% of the world’s population will reside in Africa by the year 2100. It is now more important than ever to support local businesses that are working on game-changing climate ideas. To provide African and female founders with the technology, talent, funding, and leadership support they require to create great businesses and survive, we are introducing the Delta40 Venture Studio. Lyndsay Holley Handler, the managing partner of Delta40, said, “We seek to establish a portfolio of revolutionary initiatives throughout this crucial continent that enhance lives, magnify the entrepreneurial environment, and conserve the planet for future generations.

Delta40 is continually reviewing new founders and venture ideas while also actively establishing six ventures under the leadership of seasoned entrepreneurs.
