An international money transfer and receiving service has been announced by Airtel Africa and Mastercard for Airtel’s mobile phone users in 14 African nations.

The new service is intended for the more than 100 million Airtel mobile phone users in Africa and will help strengthen the partnership between Airtel Africa and Mastercard as they work to expand the continent’s digital economy.

The new service would provide mobile users of Airtel with a simpler way to start digital transactions across several foreign nations.

Users of Airtel who would benefit from this service will have access to and connections to wallets in more than 145 markets worldwide. allowing them to transfer and receive money from several nations.

Chad, Congo Brazzaville, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Gabon, Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Seychelles, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia are among the 14 African nations where Airtel has a network and will launch the service.

According to Airtel’s regional director for East Africa, Ian Ferraro, the partnership with Mastercard will allow the mobile network company to provide satisfaction in international money transfer services. He said it will also improve customers’ lives with digital financial solutions because the purpose of the new service is to help its customers across the African countries it operates to achieve a more effective international money transfer service.

Ngozi Megwa, senior vice president of MasterCard, further stated that the service will be smooth and safe and that Mastercard has always been committed to Africa’s growth in the digital economy sector.

The collaboration highlights Airtel and Mastercard’s contributions to providing Africans with access to mobile financial services and technological transformation. Accepting digital payments boosts economic growth, efficiency, and transparency in addition to financial inclusion. If participants from all sectors collaborate, Africa may quicken the pace of its transition to digital payments and establish itself as a global leader in this field.

With the new service, Airtel’s mobile users would have an easier way to start digital transactions in other nations.
