First Co-Working Space Launched in Ogun State, RockSpace Nigeria

RockSpace Nigeria has launched the first Co-Working Space and Ideation Lab in Ogun State capital, Abeokuta. The launching of the Innovative space coincided with the 2018 commemoration of the International Co-Working Day.

RockSpace Nigeria aims to serve as a household community for Social Innovators, Freelancers, Creators, Start-ups, Entrepreneurs and Techpreneurs living in both Abeokuta and its environs to meet, work, connect, collaborate, create, inspire and hack ideas.

According to the Communications Manager of RockSpace Nigeria, Ibukun Olusola, the coworking space will help foster a creative community and provide entrepreneurs in the state with access to a shared workspace, internet, utilities and business services.

He said the idea is in line with the ‘Sustainable Development Goal 9’ which focuses on building resilient infrastructure, promoting inclusive and sustainable industrialisation and also, fostering innovation.

Olusola stressed that the coworking space and ideation lab will help improve the state’s technological ecosystem.
“We tend to foster and promote more of these communities, by availing them an innovative space for a convergence, take up the responsibility of mapping these groups and provide them adequate resources to develop, not just themselves but also put the tech community of Ogun State on the map of tech communities in Nigeria,” Olusola said.
