Kenya’s Maisha Meds and Turaco, both e-health start-ups have joined the Villgro Kenya’s portfolio. Each Start-Up received $40,000 grants and incubation support to help them grow and upsurge access to healthcare for low earners. Villgro was impressed by these Start-Up’s approach in solving problem.
Maisha Meds with its software platform ensures rural pharmacists and clinicians effectively purchase quality affordable medicines and pass on subsidies to patients, and Turaco offers health loans combined with insurance so its clients can get care whenever a medical emergency arises.

Maisha Meds’ system provides remote patients who visit local pharmacies first for basic care, and it ensures that quality and affordable drugs are purchased which helps tackle the challenge of market access for pharmaceutical companies and providers. It makes sure that high quality medicines are reasonably priced by patients and substandard medicines are excluded from the supply chain.
Finding enough money to pay for healthcare can be a major problem for some individuals, causing many to delay treatment until their condition degenerate and become pricey to treat. Turaco is changing this unpleasant narrative with its healthcare loan and insurance platform.
