The 2019 edition of the Nokia Open Innovation Challenge is currently ongoing. It is an opportunity for companies to propose automation related products and solutions to a panel of international judges. The most advanced and innovative candidates will be selected to attend the final event at the Nokia headquarters, Finland in November.

The second round of selection will happen during the event and the winners will stand a chance of getting financial assistance and opportunity to collaborate with experts from Nokia and Nokia Bell Labs. The selection jury will be chaired by Marcus Weldon, the President of Nokia Bell Labs and Corporate CTO of Nokia.

The fourth generation of the industrial revolution will be driven by automation— optimized services and businesses will require connectivity and applications to be highly productive. The NOIC seeks to promote innovation and industrial automation for the fourth industrial revolution. It seeks out startups with innovative ideas in industrial automation categories such as multi-robot collaboration, VR/AR augmentations, Chabot technologies, artificial intelligence and related technologies.

The winners will access Nokia’s global market, possible investment opportunities, joint business opportunities and technology boost of Nokia’s technologies, products and resources.
