In a bid to retain existing and attract new customers, Poa! Internet partnered with Fon to launch a free public Wi-Fi network across Nairobi and Kiambu. They have deployed more than 3000 hotspots across Kenya with the launch of street Wi-Fi for subscribers. The Wi-Fi can also be used by non-subscribers at prices lower than traditional data bundles.

Fon is a global Wi-Fi service provider of over 21 million hotspots. It provides software solutions for operators and enterprises in developed nations. Its global clients include AT&T, British Telecom, Telstra, KPN, Deutsche Telekom Group and Vodafone Group.
Andy Halsall, the CEO of Poa! Internet said that internet is needed for innovation and new business models for the development of generational technology. He added that he is proud to bring to East Africa, Fon’s Wi-Fi sharing model which provides sharing access points for homes on the streets of many countries.
