Google has rolled out Chrome 79 with a feature that will let you know when your password is compromised. As part of its data breach feature, Chrome 79 will notify you when your password has been stolen.
Before the launch of Chrome 79, Google has always warned users about reused passwords in a different browser extension or via its password checkup tool. However, Chrome 79 grants direct access to the feature . This direct feature will warn you once you log into other sites on the web.

The sync settings of the Chrome browser controls the password feature. The search engine giant is using strongly hashed and encrypted copies of passwords to match them through layers of encryption. Google leverages the private set intersection with blinding technique to achieve this.
Aside from password notifications, Google has boosted its phishing protection with real-time protection. The option aims to generate warnings against phishing cases. The option will prevent about 30% or more cases of phishing activities.
The new Chrome 79 comes with improved multiple profiles support. This feature alerts multiple profile users with a visual indicator of the profile in use. This is in a bid to ensure that users save the passwords to the correct profile.
