BongoHive is a technology and innovation hub that has recently engaged the legal firm Musa Dudhia & Co. to make legal services available for aspiring startups.

Legal guidance for business startups is essential to the process of their growth. They often lack this guidance, however, says Simunza Muyangana. The startups require legal guidance to build a scalable, successful business.

Businesses must have legal documents forged to protect their name along with their assets. Patents are also essential for unique, innovative new products.

Without the help of a team of experienced lawyers may result in problematic and unwanted situations down the road such as having to pay more taxes or exposing your business to unnecessary liabilities.

Lukonga Lindunda, the other co-founder and director of BongoHive stated that more private and public sector partnerships were need needed by the local entrepreneurship ecosystem for further driving the growth of SMEs.

He continues to say that BongoHive desires to boost local SMEs to a global level by searching for more opportunities.

Musa Dudhia & Co. was founded back in 1958. The company played an active role in shaping Zambia’s legal structure.

The senior partner at Musa Dushia & Co., Abdulla Dudhia said, “The future of Zambia is the hands of young, creative entrepreneurs and it’s for this reason that we are part of ALN, which is comprised of African home grown law firms, like us, who are committed to building Africa for Africans. We hope that by assisting Zambian startups through BongoHive, our country can grow into an African power house.”
