Tapsnapp was cofounded by Vije Vijendranath and Jaiprakash Sewram with the intent of promoting photography services across South Africa.
The platform has been released for trial in Johannesburg and will soon be expanded to Cape Town, Durban, and Pretoria.
Vijendranath described his company as the “Uber for photography services.” The platform connects customers with photographers across South Africa.
So, how does the platform work exactly? The customer may choose any photographer of his/her liking and request specific proposals of what they would like photographed and how they want it done. From there, the photographers will take several shots as choices for customers to choose from.
According to Vijendranath, Tapsnapp offers set and straightforward prices for customer’s photography bundles. This allows customers to stick to their budget without worrying if the price will become more than they expected.
Not only is this platform benefiting customers with their professional photography needs, but it also fuels photographers that connect with this tool.
Photographers traditionally only relied on the referral system to get their name out there. Now, they have a modern advantage through this tool that will increase their audience and promote their business more efficiently.
The reason for their slow startup is since the platform is self-funded. Despite this fact, they intend to press on and make a stronger name for themselves. They plan on spreading further across the continent of Africa starting next year.
