MEST Africa, in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, has announced the selection of 12 promising startups for the second cohort of the Ghana EdTech Fellowship Program. This initiative continues the organizations’ joint mission to support and scale innovative, technology-driven solutions that improve access to quality education across Ghana.

The selected startups will undergo a six-month acceleration program designed to strengthen their business models, enhance their technological capabilities, and amplify their impact within Ghana’s education ecosystem. The program includes mentorship, tailored technical and business support, and access to funding and strategic partnerships.

“We are thrilled to welcome this new cohort of innovative startups,” said Ashwin Ravichandran, Managing Director at MEST Africa. “Their passion and creativity in tackling critical educational challenges aligns with our vision to transform learning outcomes in Ghana and beyond through technology.”

The 12 startups were chosen from a competitive pool of applicants based on criteria such as innovation, scalability, team capacity, and impact potential. The selected ventures span a range of education sub-sectors including digital learning platforms, teacher support tools, STEM education, early childhood development, and inclusive education for underserved communities.

Among the 2025 cohort are:

  • EduNova – A mobile-first learning platform tailored to SHS students.

  • STEM Junction – Hands-on STEM kits and virtual labs for rural schools.

  • KlasConnect – A digital tool that bridges teachers and parents to improve student performance.

  • ReadAble – An inclusive app for visually impaired learners in basic schools.

The Ghana EdTech Fellowship is part of the Mastercard Foundation’s broader strategy to enable access to dignified and fulfilling work for young people, particularly through skills development and entrepreneurship.

“The education challenges in Ghana are complex, but we believe that with the right support, young innovators can design powerful solutions,” said Nathalie Akon Gabala, Mastercard Foundation’s Regional Director for West, Central, and Northern Africa. “We’re excited to continue our collaboration with MEST Africa to drive sustainable change in the sector.”

The program builds on the success of its first cohort, which supported 12 early-stage ventures that have since gone on to reach thousands of learners and secure follow-on funding.

As the new cohort embarks on its journey, MEST Africa and the Mastercard Foundation reaffirm their commitment to fostering a thriving EdTech ecosystem that empowers youth, supports teachers, and builds a resilient educational future for Ghana.
