South African Yodiwo has partnered with Cold Tech Marketing in a bid to transform the retail sector in South Africa. They aim to achieve this with intelligent IoT platform capabilities, analytics and Machine learning algorithms at a price point versus a response time that’s effective for the local market. Cold Tech Marketing will leverage on the partnership to launch Yodigram image recognition software to its 2.5 million customers in over 19 African countries. Aside Cold Tech’s intelligent IoT platform and systems, Yodigram will also deliver in-store SKU image recognition capabilities with high levels of accuracy and reporting functionality.

The partnership will allow Yodiwo and Cold Tech Marketing long term integration of IoT platforms and reporting systems such as Salesforce Automation Tool. Cold Tech Marketing has a massive presence within East and West Africa. Their operations expand continuously as they move into new markets and territories. The partnership will allow the company to cement its offering within its markets while enhancing its intelligent services and IoT capabilities.

Founded in 2015, Yodiwo is an Internet of Things technology enabler with a unique framework for bridging things and applications over the cloud.

It allows its users to connect different network devices and sensors and turn them into ready-to-use functions. It also allows its users to create IoT user stories on a visual canvas, and transform its users’ data into actionable items and achieve business efficiency. They are in partnership with IBM, WEST, NCP, and FREE2MOVE. It offers its users with solutions such as facility management and retail business. It also offers its users with consulting and project management for system integrators, implementations that includes consulting and deliverables, and training services for clients and system integrators.

Lesley Lawrence, Development Director and co-founder of Cold Tech Marketing said “The image recognition solution we were using prior to our agreement with Yodiwo South Africa was too rigid for the needs of the local market. We needed a practical and powerful solution that would allow us to not only scale our African operations, but deliver high-end capabilities to our customers.”

“We are trying to add value to our customers and want to be flexible in our approach, something that Yodigram was able to address with Yodiwo, we have created a solution that is built on our shared understanding and expertise that completely harnesses the synergies between our organizations. Yodiwo SA has been able to provide exactly what we need and willing to accommodate our unique requirements,” he also said.

Rodney Taylor, CEO of Yodiwo SA said, “the partnership is very exciting for both organisations. It combines the innovative features of Yodigram for planogram compliance and inventory management with Cold Tech’s deep knowledge of the African retail market. After the successful launch of Yodigram in Europe, and with the help of Yodiwo SA and expertise of Cold Tech, we will modernise and digitally transform the daily store operation in Africa.”
