Meta is bringing its ‘broadcast channels’ feature to Facebook and Facebook Messenger after first launching it to Instagram and WhatsApp earlier this year.

The feature will be available on the two platforms in the upcoming weeks, according to the company.

Creators and prominent personalities can interact with their audience directly by using the feature to share one-to-many messages.

Public figures and creators can utilize the channels to keep their audience informed and share behind-the-scenes information.

Text, photos, polls, reactions, and more are supported via channels. Only the channel’s creator can send messages on broadcast channels.

Only the channel’s creator can post messages on channels, however, viewers can reply to messages and vote in polls.

Once creators have created a broadcast channel and released their first message, they will once again receive a popup asking their followers if they want to join.

Users can sign up for broadcast channels directly from the profile of a page on Facebook, at which point they will receive notifications anytime a message is sent.  While on the channel, you have the option to mute these notifications.

Officials from the company, notably Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, have begun using broadcast channels to update the public about the latest features and offerings.
