Formerly known as Twitter, social media company X has introduced two new subscription plans, one of which is a Premium+ tier for those who are ready to pay to remove ads from their feed.

According to a post made by the company on the platform, the Premium+ plan, which costs roughly $16 a month, has all of the tools and services that the platform offers, except for the advertisements.

However, it was noted that for the time being, it would only be accessible to anyone who accessed the platform using a web browser.

Without the blue checkmark, the base tier costs $3 per month and has advertisements.

In an effort to make the platform an all-in-one app, X also intends to integrate audio and video calling for some consumers.

Musk has been looking into a number of ways to heavily monetize the social media network that he purchased in October 2022 for $44 billion.

The “largest reply boost” will be available for $16 per month for the Premium+ tier. Advertisements will no longer appear in the platform’s “For You” and “Following” feeds under this.

Basic functions like the ability to edit postings and upload longer text and videos would be included. There will also be a “small reply boost” available.

Premium+ and basic tiers are currently only available for purchase via the web.
