The travel sector in Africa is one of the fastest growing in the world (hyperlink). It is further being transformed by the rapid penetration of travel technology and internet use in the continent. If the merger is able to substantiate a position in the continent for the new company, it will be able to apply its tactics to other emerging economies around the world with similar characteristics.
Savanna Sunrise is a Kenyan company launched in 2014 with the function of travel and hospitality marketing. The company’s owners, Endre Opdal and Havar Bauck, have experience in hospitality and managing hotels.
HotelOga is a Nigerian company that equally provides efficient booking management and access to an eco-system supported by height tech. The founders of HotelOga are Marek Zmyslowski and Maciej Prostak.
In the initial stages, the two brands will continue to market separately until a unified marketing strategy is developed. The goal of the merger is to create enough power to concentrate their attention to emerging markets not only in Africa but globally. What’s your take on this merger?
