The TechMoney Africa Summit event which was held in the University of Lagos, Nigeria, commenced on the 10th of June 2019 and ended on the 11th of June 2019. Careem a ride-hailing company, has acquired Cyacle to offer yet another transport option for customers in the Middle East and Africa. This acquisition will result in an increase in the availability of bike-sharing service and job creation in the region.
Inlaks, one of Africa’s leading system integration companies, has launched “the hatch” innovation lab. The lab will help scale up Fintech startups by providing access to resources, financial support, and collaborations. They are also taking in entrants for an Insurance-based Hackathon. South African startup company, MyLifeLine provides personal safety wearable devices for people in an emergency. The IoT enabled wearable devices are monitored 24 hours from security control rooms. The product provides security officers with the number of 5 people you would contact in an urgent situation.
Finally, Huawei has canceled the launch of its new PC due to issues surrounding the US ban. They indefinitely postponed the launch of their computer because they no longer have access to Microsoft’s Windows Operating System and Intel’s processors.
