Guaranty Trust Bank has launched an all-round mobile application called Habari in Lagos. The platform will provide access to list of local and foreign music as well as movies and books. The application can be accessed without mobile banking details and offers a wide range of services, all of which are accessible to anyone regardless of where they choose to bank.
Safaricom and DOT incorporation have unveiled the DOT Braille Watch that will allow visually impaired persons to use MPesa. With DOT Braille Watch, they can access M-PESA messages on their own and conduct financial transactions in braille format.
Moving on, Yego Innovision has launched Rwanda’s first centralised booking system for cars and motorcycle Taxis called Yego 9191. The platform makes booking and paying for taxis far easier with standardised fares and it also makes travel safer for both the passengers and the drivers.
Google Family Link has officially been launched in South Africa after launching in a few European countries last year. This Google app will allow parents set and enforce digital ground-rules for kids like managing the apps on their phones, keeping an eye on their screen time as well setting a bedtime alarm.
Rebecca Enonchong, Cameroonian born Techpreneur, has been elected into the United Nations (UN) Africa Digital Identity Advisory Board. The board is been chaired by President Paul Kagame of Rwanda and Dr. Abiy Ahmed, Ethiopian Prime Minister. The UN Africa Digital Identity Advisory Board was established to provide technical inputs to the discourse on Digital ID in the continent and shape standards for Digital ID in Africa.
