We reported earlier that Paga hit a Milestone of 10 Million Customers. Now,Paystack has followed suit as the fintech start-up has recorded ₦10 billion in monthly transaction value. According to blog post by the company, Customers are now paying over $27.5 million to Paystack merchants every month.
Melissa Bime, a Cameroonian born tech-preneur has won the US$25,000 Anzisha Prize. Melissa won the cash prize because of her health-tech innovation called INFIUSS. Anzisha Prize is a program organized by the African Leadership Academy (ALA) in collaboration with the Mastercard Foundation.
Yesterday, November 1, Interswitch partnered with Microsoft to launch a blockchain platform. The platform dubbed Interswitch Microsoft Blockchain service and will provide visibility and transparency to transactions.
Early this week, we reported that the Middle East, Turkey and Africa (META) Information and Communications Technology growth index opined that Kenya, and South Africa are among African countries with fastest ICT growth.
Meanwhile, another report has emerged from Freedom House examining how Kenya, Nigeria and Egypt were topping the list of African countries abusing the internet freedom in 2018. This is a very bad trend in the African continent and our hope is for it to change soon.
WhatsApp to start showing ads in ‘Status’ feature…“We are going to be putting ads in ‘Status’. That is going to be primary monetisation mode for the company as well as an opportunity for businesses to reach people on WhatsApp,” the company’s Vice President, Chris Daniels said.
