An-Nisa was unveiled in Nairobi, Kenya with an aim to empower women taxi drivers while only taking a 10 per cent share from trips.


Tunisian based robotics start-up; Enova Robotics has secured $1.6 million investment round from the country’s investment firm; Capsa Capital. This happens to be the largest-funding round for a Tunisian start up.

Since it was established in 2014, Enova Robotics has sold more than 50 robots all across the world until now and their eyes are now set at selling $30 million worth of robots.


London based Bitcoin company, Luno has launched its new African regional headquarters in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Luno is a platform that connects potential buyers with potential sellers. It allows them to exchange things like products, stocks, currencies and Bitcoin.


Moving on, Ethiopian Airlines Adds Alipay to its Payment Gateway… Africa’s largest aviation group together with SkyTrax Four Star Airline, has partnered with CellPoint Mobile to accept payments via Alipay – China’s leading alternative payment method (APM), in the mobile app of Ethiopian Airlines.This partnership is a big deal for Ethiopia – as the continent’s largest carrier is targeting Chinese tourists coming to the continent. Also, it makes more sense for Alipay as they are willing to gain ground across the African continent.


CBN to Fine Banks For Failed e-Transactions… the Central Bank of Nigeria has released a circular to Nigerian banks, saying that any failed e-transaction without reversal within 24 hours will attract a fine of N10,000 starting from October 2nd.

This was contained in a Circular concerning regulation on instant inter-bank electronic funds transfer services in Nigeria and signed by the CBN director of banking and payments systems department, Dipo Fatokun.
