In an effort to further enable digital agencies and brands take advantage of the online marketing tools available in Nigeria, Alphabet Inc., whose subsidiary is Google launched its programme called “Google Partners” in the country.
The programme, which is targeted at improving the existing relationship between Google and advertising agencies, digital marketing experts, and other online professionals that manage Google Ad accounts.
A global mobile phone technology company, TAMBO officially unveiled the TAMBO brand in Nigeria. According to the company, TAMBO is an innovative mobile phone brand backed by a forward-thinking, bold and daring company.
Moving on, the Group Managing Director, Access Bank Plc. Herbert Wigwe will be meeting Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella on September 27, 2018 to discuss issues regarding how financial institutions can further strengthen banking security and provide valued added services on digital platforms, leveraging on technology.
Huawei Technologies said it has developed technologies that would help Nigeria address the problems of pipeline vandalisation and leakages to boost safety and efficiency in the oil and gas industry.
The firm also said it had come up with a technology that would solve the protracted challenge of Nigeria not knowing what is produced in the oil sector and the quantity of petroleum products being consumed in the country.
In some other news, the Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) is working with the National Assembly to pass a law that will regulate the social media.
The NCC Controller in charge of Kano zone, Tanimu Bawa during the commission’s Consumer Conversation Programme held last week said that the misuse of the social media needsto be checked and regulated. He stressed that the platforms must be censored to ensure peace and stability in its entirety.
