Uganda’s DigiHealth Wins Best Health Innovation in Morocco

Uganda’s DigiHealth Limited won the award for Best Innovation in Health at the Women in Africa Summit held in Morrocco.

This was announced in a Facebook post by the company. “We are excited to announce that last night we proudly represented Uganda at the Women in Africa Summit in Marrakech, Morrocco and scooped the award for the best innovation in health!” The statement read.

The Women in Africa (WIA) initiative is an international platform for economic development and support for African women leaders with potential. Its two main goals are to reveal the potential of the new generation of African women leaders at all levels of civil society and to network African and international women leaders in the service of an innovative and inclusive Africa.

DigiHealth Limited, formerly known as Data Health Harvesters is a team of developers, business colleagues, health experts – who have developed a web-based and a mobile app platforms to digitize the manual patient data collection for medical professionals who conduct outreaches – so that the data collected can be accurate, secure, and can be easily transferable from one hospital to another in one way or the other.

DigiHealth also participated in the Seedstar Kampala pitch competition, where they pitched the their idea to panel of judges and AgricTech startup; Agro Supply Limited emerged winner.

In 2017, the start-up emerged Overall Winners of the Up Accelerate Demo Day – a health-based innovation focused on empowering the youth to address sexual and reproductive health bottlenecks.
