CheckMe, an Egyptian e-health startup, purchased DoctorOnline in a deal that increased its market worth to $20 million.
CheckMe is a customer-focused marketplace mobile application that was established in 2020 and is supported by the T3G investment group. It offers on-demand medical lab services through a number of lab partners.
In the meantime, DoctorOnline, which was established the same year by Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Hakim, is a smartphone application that functions as a virtual clinic and provides patients with access to experienced doctors in all medical specialties via video conversations.
“This acquisition is consistent with our regional expansion strategy and the extension of our service portfolio. Dr. Nesma El Talawy, CEO of CheckMe, noted that the McKinsey Global Institute estimates that health-tech savings to the healthcare industry could range from US$1.5 trillion to $3 trillion annually by 2030, making acquisitions like these crucial to the region’s economic impact.
CheckMe will be able to offer skilled professionals telemedicine and on-demand tests thanks to the acquisition of DoctorOnline.
