Senegal is advancing its digital transformation agenda through a strategic partnership with the West African Development Bank (BOAD). This collaboration aims to leverage the BOAD’s Digital Transformation Fund (FTD), backed by Germany’s KfW, to modernize public services and enhance digital infrastructure across the country.
The initiative aligns with Senegal’s “New Technology Deal,” a comprehensive $1.7 billion plan to digitize public administration, expand internet access, and foster innovation. Despite securing significant funding, the project faces a 155 billion CFA franc shortfall, which the BOAD partnership seeks to address.
Minister of Communication, Telecommunications, and the Digital Economy, Alioune Sall, emphasized the importance of this partnership in strengthening Senegal’s digital sovereignty and improving public service efficiency. The BOAD delegation reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Senegal’s digital transformation efforts.
This collaboration marks a significant step in Senegal’s journey towards becoming a regional leader in digital transformation, aiming to enhance economic competitiveness and improve access to digital services for its citizens.
