Demo Africa has announced five start-ups for their 7th edition of DEMO Africa 2018 in Casablanca, Morocco. The start-ups were selected out of the 30 finalists and they include: Chefaa (Egypt), Khourtim (Morocco), VertoFX (Nigeria), Hawkar (Tunisia) and Complete Farmer (Ghana).
Chefaa helps patients order and pay for medicine online and was founded in 2017. Khourtim, founded in 2018, is a logistics start-up. VertoFX, a decentralized B2B currency liquidity provider and price discovery marketplace.
Hawkar is building smart electric cars for people with reduced mobility and Complete Farmer is making farming easy by letting you manage your farm from anywhere.

DEMO Africa event is sponsored by Lions@frica and Microsoft alongside other local and Pan-African partners including Accenture, and Atijjariwafa Bank. The winners will join other international start-ups in Silicon Valley for the 2019 edition of the Lions@frica Innovation tour.
“Every year, DEMO Africa finalists get the chance of a lifetime when they showcase their innovations during the main event. they also get global exposure by networking with corporate acquires, trade and mainstream media, venture capitalists, angel investors and other entrepreneurs attending the conference,” Harry Hare, Founder at DEMO Africa said.
Additionally, all of the thirty start-up finalists were fast tracked to the technical review stage of the Innovation Impact Giant Program organized by the Dubai 2020 Expo.
