Tanzanian based agribusiness platform, Makaru Agro has won the Seedstars Tanga pitch event. Womenchoice, a social enterprise was placed second while agritech start-up, Asante Mama was placed third.
Makaru Agro will go ahead to pitch at the Seedstars Dar es Salaam, where they will compete with other participants at Seedstars Tanzania.
The company works harmoniously with nature and the land to grow quality vegetables and fruit to supply within and beyond the country together with community welfare improvement. They also provide agricultural consultancy services.

Other start-ups that pitched at Seedstars Tanga include, medtech Tibafasta and tourism firm, Zetu Safari.
Seedstars World will conclude its tour of start-ups in Africa with Seedstars Dar es Salaam which will hold on 10 December in the Tanzanian capital before the Seedstars Africa Regional Summit which also hold in Dar es Salaam on 13 December.
Seedstars World is a part of the Swiss group Seedstars and runs the global startup competition covering over 65 emerging and developing markets.
