Reports have it that the Ghanaian Government is in search of private partners to invest in its proposed new national air carrier while saying the government would not hold more than 10 per cent shares in the company.
Joseph Kofi Adda, Minister of Aviation, said the government was not interested in taking huge shares because it does not want the company to be under state control.
Moving on, Nigerian agritech start-up, Thrive Agric has been selected alongside 22 other start-ups for the 500 Start-ups tech accelerator program. The 500 Start-ups’ Accelerator kicked off its 24th batch of start ups during a program in Silicon Valley.
Nigeria’s first molecular diagnostics firm, Stack Diagnostics has launched a new service called DiagnoseMe Africa. The initiative is an online platform that will contribute to the Nigerian health sector by providing access to over 300 life-saving tests not easily accessible in the country.
Nigerian airline, Arik also suffered a major data breach. The data leak details emerged that the airline’s data were found in exposed and vulnerable Amazon S3 buckets. This was discovered by Justin Paine, the head of trust and safety at Cloudflare, the largest internet security and cloud network platforms in the world.
